Description
Drive Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone and features quoins. The roof has modern tiles on the left side and shingles on the right, with coped gable parapets, the left side having kneelers. There is a stone end stack with a brick shaft on the right, along with brick ridge and end stacks. The house has a three-unit plan and is not of one build. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. The entrance, which has been inserted between the first and second bays, features a modern four-panelled door and a contemporary lintel. To the right of the entrance, there is a two-light window that was inserted in a former doorway. Most of the windows throughout the building are mid-20th century metal casements with glazing bars, primarily in a three-light configuration. The ground floor openings have stone lintels with keystones, while a small window on the left has a plain lintel. The first floor windows are fitted with painted wood lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
