Description

Hillside Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is built from regularly coursed ironstone and features a moulded stone cornice. The old tile roof has coped gable parapets, and the stone ridge and right end stacks are topped with 20th and 19th century brick chimneys, respectively. The house has a three-unit plan and is two storeys high with a three-window range. There is a part-glazed flush panelled door located between the second and third bays. The original leaded cross window is on the left side of the first floor, while the ground floor window has been lengthened. The cottage also has late 20th century metal casements and some 20th century rendered surrounds, along with painted wood lintels. The left return side features a flush four-panelled door. At the rear, there is a 19th century whitewashed brick wing with a slate roof. The interior has not been inspected.
