Description

Napton Windmill is a windmill located in Napton on the Hill, dating from the 18th to early 19th century, with restoration completed in the late 20th century. The structure is built of brick, with a base made of regularly coursed ironstone. It features a conical shape topped with a domed cap made of metal sheets and a finial. The windmill stands three storeys high and has a 20th-century door. The windows are 2-light casements with glazing bars, and the openings are adorned with brick segmented arches. The sails have been restored. There is an attached house that was formerly a separate cottage and outbuilding, dating from the 18th to 19th century, which has undergone significant alterations in the late 20th century and is not considered of special architectural interest.
