Description
The Canal Buildings at Napton Bottom Lock on the Oxford Canal date from the early to mid-19th century, with some later alterations. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring a brick dentil cornice and a slate roof with a brick ridge stack. The building is one storey high and has a two-window range. There are two partially blocked wide doorways; the left doorway has a 19th-century casement and wood lintel, while the right has a late 20th-century plank door and brick. The fixed light windows, which have many glazing bars, are located in the center and to the right, and they feature brick flat arches. To the left, there is a three-bay open shed supported by brick pillars and wood lintels. The back wall is partly made of stone and includes later brickwork.
