Description

Hill Cottage and an attached outbuilding date from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottage is constructed of squared ironstone and has a concrete tile roof, with 20th-century brick end stacks. It is arranged as a two-unit plan, with two windows across the front façade. A central plank door has applied ribs and an arch, added in the mid-20th century, and is sheltered by a mid-20th-century timber porch. The windows are 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, set within painted wooden lintels on the ground floor. Inside, the cottage retains exposed beams. Attached to the left is a fragment of a former barn, with a plank door and corrugated iron roof. The left return side, constructed of whitewashed brick, features a queen post roof truss and some lath and plaster infill.
