Description
Forge Cottage is a cottage, possibly formerly two separate units, dating from the late 18th century and not built all at once. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone, with the left side made of whitewashed brick. The roof is thatched with straw and features a stone ridge stack. The cottage has a five-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a five-window range. There is a plank door located between the first two bays, which is sheltered by a thatched hood. The windows are two and three-light casements with glazing bars and painted wood lintels, and there are swept dormers. Late 20th-century additions have been made to both the left and right sides of the cottage.
