Description
The Old Bakery is a house dated 1695, with early 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone, featuring quoins and coped gables. The roof is covered with 20th-century tiles and has stone end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and is three storeys high, with a two-window range that includes 19th and 20th-century casements. The ground and first floor windows are set in the original openings of mullioned windows, complete with hood moulds and labels. There is a six-panelled door in the centre with a flat hood above it. A moulded datestone inscribed in bas-relief with 'IS/1695' is located between the first-floor windows. To the left, there is a one-storey stone range. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
