Description

Kirkholme is a house dated 1648, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and has a plain-tile roof from the 20th century, along with brick stacks at the ends. The house has a three-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and features a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with an overlight, panelled reveals, a moulded wood surround, a wood lintel, and a gabled hood supported by brackets. To the right of the door is a one-light window, while the rest of the ground and first floors have three-light leaded casement windows, all with wood lintels. The exterior includes a chamfered plinth, quoins, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. The left gable end has a Horn datestone, possibly reset, inscribed with "AS NS JULY 29 ANNO DOMINI 1648." Inside, the house features a chamfered spine beam, other boxed beams, and a Tudor-arched stone fireplace.
