Description
Stourton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century, with alterations and additions made in the early 19th century. The front is made of limestone ashlar, while the rear is constructed from squared coursed rubble. It features a plinth, moulded storey bands, and coped gables. The roof is covered with 20th-century tiles and has ashlar end stacks with moulded flues. The building has a three-unit plan, stands two storeys plus an attic, and has a three-window range of early 19th-century sashes on the ground and first floors, along with three-light mullioned windows in full gabled dormers. The central entrance has an early 19th-century six-panelled door with a hood supported on consoles. There is also a blocked doorway with an old wood lintel on the right gable end, a staircase projection, and early 19th-century extensions to the rear. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
