Description
The Cherington Arms Public House is a mid-18th century building constructed from squared coursed limestone, featuring quoins and coped gables. It has a slate roof with stone end stacks and a two-unit plan, standing two storeys plus an attic. The front facade displays a two-window range of 18th-century cross casements on the first floor and later cross casements on the ground floor, all with stone flat arches. There is a 20th-century one-storey brick extension and a glazed door added in the 20th century. The building also features two 19th-century gabled dormers and two additional cross casements on the right gable end, which includes a worn datestone and a moulded hood above. At the rear, there is a 20th-century one-storey stone extension. Inside, the pub boasts a chamfered spine beam and a large open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. The building is included for its group value.
