Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th or 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with plaster and brick infill, built upon a rubble plinth, and has a tile roof with brick end stacks. The house originally comprised two units.
The exterior presents two storeys and a two-window facade. A 20th-century door is set within a gabled rustic porch at the central entrance. A canted bay window to the right has a hipped roof and leaded glazing. A projecting window to the left has a tile lean-to covering a two-light leaded casement, with two similar windows above flanking a Birmingham Insurance Co fire plate. The timber framing is square with thin members. The roof is gabled. The right return side is of painted brick and features a projecting stack. A 20th-century rear wing has been added.
The interior of the house has not been inspected.
