The Thatch is a house located at No. 9 Chapel Street in Welford-on-Avon. It dates from the 17th century, with some additions made in the 18th century. The building features a timber-frame structure with plaster infill, brick wings, and some rubble. It has a thatched roof, while the wings have tiled roofs with brick ridge and end stacks. The exterior is single-storey plus attic. The addition to the right has a top dentiled brick cornice. The entrance in this addition features a plank door set in a moulded wood surround, with a small square window above that has a small-paned casement. The wing has an external stack on the end and a catslide outshut on the left return, with some rubble at the angle. The end of the wing has two small square windows on the ground floor and an ogee-headed window with its original head above a 20th-century casement on the first floor. The right return has a window with a three-light casement.
On the left return, there is a timber-framed gable with 20th-century casements on each floor. The rear of the building features a gabled wing with a stack. The interior has not been inspected.
