Description
The Shakespeare is a public house located on Chapel Street in Welford-on-Avon, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick, which is painted on the front, and features a tiled roof with brick end stacks. It has an L-shaped plan.
The exterior consists of two storeys with a symmetrical three-window arrangement. At the top, there is a dentiled brick cornice. The entrance is sheltered by a 20th-century lean-to porch. The ground floor showcases bow windows with four-light small-paned casements, while the first floor has segmental-headed windows with three-light leaded casements, flanked by similar two-light casements. The roof is gabled, and there is a rear outshut. The interior has not been inspected.
