Description
Hornby Cottage is a house located in Welford-on-Avon, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later alterations. The building features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a steeply pitched thatched roof, which has brick stacks at the ends. It has a two-unit plan and is a single storey plus an attic, with end outshuts.
On the ground floor, there are two windows: one with a three-light and another with a two-light 20th-century leaded casement. To the left, there is an eyebrow dormer with a similar two-light casement. The outshut on the left side has a stone slate roof and features an entrance at the front with a 20th-century door and an open gabled porch. The square framing displays thin scantlings, and there are additions at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
