Description

Cider Mill House and Cider Mill is a house with an attached cider mill and a converted barn, now also functioning as a house. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted plaster infill on the left side and brick laid in Flemish bond on the right side, all resting on a rubble plinth. The roof is steeply pitched and thatched, with a brick cross-axial stack that has diagonal shafts.

The exterior is single-storey plus an attic and has a three-window range on the left and a two-window range on the right. There is a garage entrance at the left end and a segmental-headed entrance to the right of the center, which has a 20th-century glazed door. The ground floor includes four square windows to the left of center and two segmental-headed windows flanking the entrance to the right of center, all featuring 20th-century small-paned casements. The attic has five raking dormer windows with similar three-light casements. The left return is made of coursed rubble and has a hipped dormer. The rear of the building has 20th-century additions. The cider mill, located at the right end and now detached, includes a timber beam and post with a stone trough and wheel. The interior has not been inspected.
