Description
This canal milepost, dated 1820, is made of cast iron and stands approximately 80 cm high. It is mounted on a circular shaft with a convex rectangular display top that is divided in the center. The left side is inscribed with "UTTOXETER /17/MILES" and the right side with "ETRURIA/11/MILES." The head of the milepost is topped with a dome, and the base features a small quatrefoil inscribed with "R & D /STONE/1820."
