CHEDDLETON C.P. FELTHOUSE LANE SJ 95 SE 5/72 Felthouse and attached - barn (part of Lower Felthouse Farm)

GV II

Farmhouse and attached barn. C15 core, refaced C17 and altered late C19. Coursed squared and dressed stone; tiled roof, verge parapets, L-shaped brick ridge stack to right of centre of house, long low 2- storey front. House to right has hay loft opening to left and 3- light casement window to centre of first floor. Ground floor has 3 doorways, the centre flanked by two 3-light windows, that to left in a deep labelled C17 reveal; gabled single-storey projection to right of front. The barn to left on 2 levels of hay loft over byres has 5 slit-vents to first floor over 2 small widely-spaced windows to ground floor. Two C17 three-light chamfered mullioned windows to south-west gable. South-east side of house rebuilt in brickwork; barn has segmental-headed cart entry against butt joint to house revealing in the cross wall a cruck frame with feet approximately 300mm above ground level.
