Description
The entrance gates, piers, and railed screen to Ashcombe Park were built in the mid-19th century. The structure features rusticated ashlar piers that are square and approximately 2.5 meters high. The gate piers are topped with lion sculptures, while the outer piers have ball finials. The cast iron spearhead railings curve gracefully, extending about 20 meters on each side of the gate piers. The gates themselves are adorned with elaborate wrought iron crested tops. This entrance is included for its group value.
