Description
This is a milepost located on the east side of Cheadle Road in Cheddleton, likely dating from the early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape with an inclined head set about 700 millimeters above the ground. The milepost is inscribed with the name "CHEDDLETON," and on the left side, it lists distances to Wetley Rocks (2 miles), Hilderstone (12 miles), Sandon (15.5 miles), and Stafford (20 miles).
