Description
This milepost, located on Cellarhead Road in Cheddleton, is likely from the early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape with an inclined head that stands about 700 millimeters above the ground. The milepost is inscribed with the name "CELLARHEAD" and directional distances: on the left side, it shows "HILDERSTONE 9/SANDON 12 1/2/STAFFORD 17", and on the right side, it reads "WETLEY ROCKS 1/CHEDDLETON 3 1/2/LEEK 6 1/2".
