Description
This is a milepost, likely from the early 20th century, made of cast iron. It has a triangular shape with an inclined head positioned 600 millimeters above the ground. The left side is inscribed with the names and distances to various locations: 'HANLEY 6', 'LEEK 6¾', 'STOKE 7', and 'NEWCASTLE 8½'. The right side lists 'FROGHALL 3½', 'CHEADLE 3¾', 'ASHBOURNE 15¼', and 'STAFFORD 20¾'.
