Description
The gate piers and gates at Ashtead Park, located at the junction of Farm Lane and Pleasure Pit, were likely built in the mid-19th century. They are made of ashlar stone and feature iron gates. The structure includes three square-section piers, each approximately 2 meters high, with plinths, recessed panels, and pyramidal capstones on the two left-hand piers that flank the carriage entrance. The right-hand pier is taller and has a band. The main gateway consists of a wide single gate hung on the south pier, featuring pointed railings secured by a low rail with 'dog bars' below and a hoop, topped with a concave design. There is also a pedestrian gate on the right.
