Description

The gate piers and gates to Charlton Park are an early 19th-century entrance feature. They are made of ashlar and wrought iron. There are two carriage drive gate piers, each 2.5 metres tall, flanked by two pedestrian gate piers that are 2 metres tall, making a total of four piers. The piers have moulded bases and raised panels on the east face of the carriage piers only. The gate jambs are scroll-topped, and the caps are pedimented. All gates are fitted with spear railings, with the carriage drive gates featuring a ramped overthrow.
