Description
Nos 7 and 8 Park Street are two row cottages dating from the late 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The cottages are built of coursed rubble and feature wooden and concrete lintels, topped with stone slate roofs that have one ridge stone stack and one stone stack at the right end.
No 7 has a south-facing front that is single-storey with an attic, featuring two windows. The windows are 2 and 3-light casements, with those in the attic positioned under gables. There is a central part-glazed door set in a deep reveal.
No 8 has an L-shaped plan with an advanced gabled wing to the left and an additional gable on the parallel range. This cottage is two storeys with an attic, and its windows are also 2 and 3-light casements, with small pane glazing in the parallel range. The doorway is segmental-headed and offset to the left in the advanced wing, leading to a passage that has two doors: one to the right is part-glazed, and the other in front is made of oak planks set in a moulded architrave with double indentations at the head. The property is enclosed by low dressed stone boundary walls with square gate piers.
