Description

This milestone, located on the north side of Charlton Malmesbury Road, dates from 1755 to 1756 and was part of the Malmesbury Turnpike. It is made of limestone and has a triangular shape with a cambered top, standing at 1 metre high. An early 20th-century metal plate is attached, displaying the distances: 'MINETY/5/MALMESBURY/2'.
