Description

This is a milestone dating from 1755 to 1756, associated with the Malmesbury Turnpike, and features a late 19th-century mile plate. The milestone is made of limestone and has a square plan with a double-cambered top, standing 1 metre high. On the south face, there is a cast iron plate that reads: 'MINETY/I/MILE/MALMESB.Y/6/MILES'.
