Description
Askew Bridge House is a detached house with an early 18th century core and a late 18th century addition. The core is constructed from rubble, while the south addition features squared and coursed dressed stone with blocked ashlar dressings. The roof of the core is made of stone slate, and the addition has Welsh slates with ashlar copings and end ashlar stacks. The house has three storeys and a three-window south front. The windows are 16-pane sashes set in deep reveals. There is a central round-arched doorway with a 6-panel door, two top lights, and a spoked fanlight. First and second floor platbands are also present. The house is named after the nearby askew railway bridge.
