Description

This is a milestone located on Minety Road in Charlton, dating from 1755 to 1756, associated with the Malmesbury Turnpike. It is made of limestone and has a triangular shape with a cambered top, standing 1 metre high. There is a late 19th-century cast iron plate attached to it that reads: 'MINETY/2/MILES/MALMESB.Y/5/MILES'.
