Description

This milestone, dating from 1755-1756, is located on the north side of Bransdown Hill in Easton Grey. It was part of the Malmesbury Turnpike and features a limestone post with a cambered top, standing 1 metre high. On the south face, there is a late 19th-century cast iron mile plate that reads: BRISTOL/23/MILES/MALMESB.Y/4/MILES.
