Description

Milestone located on Sherston Road in Brokenborough, dating from 1755-1756, associated with the Malmesbury Turnpike, and featuring a late 19th-century mile plate. The milestone is made of limestone and stands 1.5 metres high with a cambered top. On its south face, there is a cast iron mile plate that reads: BRISTOL/25/MILES/MALMESB.Y/2/MILES.
