Description

This milestone, dating from 1755-1756, is located on the Malmesbury Road in Pinkney. It was part of the Malmesbury Turnpike and features a limestone post that stands 1.5 metres high with a cambered top. Attached to the post is a late 19th-century cast iron plate that reads: "BRISTOL/22/MILES/MALMESB.Y/5/MILES."
