Description
Ruckley House is a farmhouse located in Easton Grey, dating from the 17th century, with a probable addition from the 18th century, early 20th-century additions, and a north wing added in 1953, which features a dated coat of arms above the north door. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings around the windows, topped with stone slate roofs and stone stacks. The south front showcases the original gabled two-storey and attic 17th-century farmhouse in the center, flanked by a two-storey and attic 18th-century block on the left and an early 20th-century addition on the right. The fenestration is varied, featuring two and three-light chamfered mullions with small leaded panes and hoodmoulds. There are three hipped dormers along the eaves line, each adorned with the Tremayne crest and fitted with two-light leaded casements. The north courtyard front includes the 1953 wing on the right and a former granary range on the left. Inside, the 1953 wing contains Palladian style doorcases.
