Description
The Horse and Groom Inn is an inn dating from the early 18th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of squared and coursed rubble, featuring flush rusticated dressed stone quoins, and has a rendered bay. The roof is covered with double Roman tiles and has three stone stacks with brick caps. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a four-window south front. The windows consist of 16-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, including a two-storey canted bay on the right with 8-pane sashes on the side faces. There are also 2-light small pane casements in two hipped dormers. To the left, there is a gabled porch that contains a 6-panel door, while to the right is a part-glazed door.
