Description

This is a milestone located on Kemble Road in Crudwell, dating from 1755 to 1756, associated with the Malmesbury Turnpike. The milestone is made of limestone and has a square plan with a cambered top, standing 0.5 metres high. On the west face, there is a metal plate that reads: 'CIRENCESTER/5/MALMESBURY/6'. An early 20th-century mile plate is also present.
