Description
Milestone located on the south side of the A433 in Rodmarton, likely dating from the mid to late 18th century. This milestone marks the turnpiked road from Bath to Cirencester, established in 1743. It consists of a single stone slab approximately 0.8 meters high, featuring an attached iron plate that is painted white with embossed black lettering. The inscription indicates the distances to Cirencester, Tetbury, and Bath, reading "V/To CIRENCESTER/V/To TETBURY/XXVIII/To BATH".
