Description

This is a milestone located on Crudwell Road in St Paul Malmesbury Without, dating from 1755 to 1756, associated with the Malmesbury Turnpike. The milestone is made of limestone and has a square plan with a cambered top, standing 1 metre high. On the west face, there is a metal plate that reads: 'CIRENCESTER/10/MALMESBURY/I'. An early 20th-century mile plate is also present.
