Description

Charlton Bridge is a road bridge located partly in the St Paul Malmesbury Without civil parish and partly in the Charlton civil parish. It was built around 1835, likely in connection with the south drive and lodges to Charlton Park. The bridge is constructed from squared and coursed rubble, featuring dressed stone for the arches, copings, cutwater buttresses, and end piers. It has two segmental-arched spans on either side, separated by triangular cutwaters. The walls curve and end in square piers with cambered tops.
