Description

This is a milestone located on the east side of The Street in Crudwell, dating from 1755 to 1756, associated with the Malmesbury Turnpike. The milestone is made of limestone and has a square plan with a cambered top, standing 1 metre high. On its west face, there is a metal plate that reads: 'CIRENCESTER /7/MALMESBURY/4'. An early 20th-century mile plate is also present.
