Description
The Plough Inn is an inn that dates from the late 18th century, with a 19th-century addition. It is constructed of limewashed rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with three stacks: two end stone stacks with brick caps on the 18th-century section and an end brick stack on the 19th-century wing. The building is two stories high and has a four-window range that runs parallel to the road, with the 18th-century wing on the right and the 19th-century addition on the left. The windows in the 19th-century section are four-pane sashes set under segmental heads, while the 18th-century range has similar sashes under flat heads, except for one two-light casement window on the upper left. There are gabled porches from the late 19th century on both sections, each with part-glazed doors. An inn sign shaped like a plough is suspended between the two ranges. The rear courtyard range has been significantly altered in the 20th century.
