The gate piers, gates, and railings forming the main entrance to Alton Park date from the early 19th century. They feature rusticated ashlar gate piers and wrought iron gates and railings. There are four gate piers that are square in shape, topped with pyramidal caps. Two large piers flank the central gates, which are connected to two smaller end piers by short sections of railings adorned with spear heads.
