Description

Old Croft is a farmhouse and barn, now a house, dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with alterations from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed, dressed millstone grit and features a stone slate roof. The building has a laithehouse plan and is two storeys high, with the house having three first-floor windows and the barn consisting of two bays. The corners of the building are marked by quoins.

The house has flat-faced mullioned windows set in flush stone surrounds. There is a chamfered, segmental-headed doorway located to the left of centre, inside a gabled porch, which contains a 20th-century board door in a chamfered, quoined surround. To the left of the door is a two-light window, and to the right is a six-light window. On the first floor, there are two two-light windows and a six-light window to the right. A corniced stack is positioned at the right end of the house. The rear of the building features double-chamfered mullioned windows with configurations of 1, 2, 3, and 4 lights. The left return has one three-light double-chamfered mullioned window.

Adjoining the house to the right, the barn has a chamfered, quoined, segmental-arched cart door with 20th-century glazing to the left, and a 20th-century board door in a flush stone surround to the right.
