Description

These are four cottages, now combined into two dwellings, located on Hebdon Bridge Road, near Oxenhope. They were built in the early to mid-19th century, with two distinct phases of construction. The cottages are constructed from dressed millstone grit, with stone slate roofs. The two-storey cottages originally had one bay each, although number 19 was later added to the right end, projecting slightly and appearing taller. They feature flat-faced mullion windows within flush stone surrounds, with projecting stone sills. The ground floor windows have three lights, while the first-floor windows contain four. The original doors, in flush stone surrounds, have been altered; the door to number 17 now sits within a later pent roof porch, and the door to number 19 has been blocked. A single-storey outshut was added to the left gable. Decorative shaped kneelers and ashlar coping are found on number 19 and the left gable. Four corniced chimney stacks are present, with those belonging to numbers 17 and 19 being particularly prominent.
