Description

70 and 72 Shaw Lane are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed millstone grit and feature a stone slate roof. Each cottage has two storeys and consists of one bay. The buildings have quoins and each cottage has a board door with an overlight on the left side, set in a plain stone surround. On the right side, there is a three-light flat-faced mullion window, with a similar four-light window above it. There is a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping on the right side. Each cottage has a corniced stack at the right end.
