Description
Two houses, now shops, dating from the early 19th century with a likely earlier core. The brick construction is topped with a plain tiled roof. The houses are three storeys high and have a three-window facade. Late 20th-century shop fronts have been inserted at ground floor level. Above, the windows are tripartite sashes, with Diocletian windows on the second floor. Three sash windows are visible on the return elevation facing Meadow Place. A moulded, dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top, and coped gables and an axial stack are present. Evidence of earlier refronting is visible in the gable wall, including the profile of an earlier roofline. This building is recognised as a group value context.
