Description
Number 18, Lucroft Hotel, and Number 19 are a hotel and shop built around 1900 in Shrewsbury. They feature a mock timber design in the Shrewsbury style with a Welsh slate roof. The building has three storeys with an attic and a five-window range. The facade displays mock framing with close studding, arcaded panels, and balustrading. There is a possible original shop front that spans the entire facade, which includes a doorway on the right with moulded console brackets supporting the fascia.
On the first floor, there are two oriel windows with Ipswich glazing, flanked by two-light mullioned and transomed windows, all featuring leaded lights. The second storey jetties out, supported by a moulded bressumer, and has casement windows with two and four lights. The building also has a coved eaves cornice and two gabled dormers, which are adorned with enriched cambered collars, barge-boards, and pendant finials.
