Description

The building comprises a house and shop, dating from the early 19th century, situated on the west side of High Street, Belford. It is constructed of ashlar with a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys and four bays in width. Number 8 features a six-panel door with an overlight on the left side, and a canted wooden oriel window on the right. The first floor has a single 12-pane sash window and one blank window. Number 10 has an early 19th century shop front on the left, with two steps leading up to a two-leaf, half-glazed door, accompanied by a five-pane overlight and flanking small-paned bow windows. A continuous corniced fascia curves over the door and windows. A 12-pane sash window is located on the right side, and two 12-pane sash windows are present on the first floor. The roof is gabled and includes kneelers. There is a rendered corniced ridge stack, a renewed brick stack on the left end, and a tall rendered stack on the right end.
