Description

4 and 6 High Street are an early to mid-18th century shop and house, originally a single property, with a late 19th-century shop front. The building is two storeys and four bays wide. The exterior is scored stucco, with a pantiled roof and brick chimneys. Number 4 has a 20th-century door and two 12-pane sash windows on each floor, all set within raised surrounds. Number 6 features a shop front at ground floor level, with a central two-leaf, half-glazed door and a corniced fascia supported by scrolled brackets. Above the shop front are two 12-pane sash windows in raised surrounds. The roof is steeply pitched with gable ends, kneelers, and flat coping, as well as swept eaves and an old brick stack on the left-hand gable.
