Description
Two houses, built around 1700. They are located on the south side of West Street, Belford. The houses are constructed of brick in an English garden wall bond, with a stone basement and ashlar dressings. They have Welsh slate roofs. Each house is two storeys and two bays wide. Number 3, on the left, has four steps leading to a boarded front door. It features a small four-pane window to the left and two twelve-pane sash windows to the right, with matching sash windows on the first floor. Number 5 has six steps with handrails leading to a panelled front door, and two twelve-pane sash windows on each floor. A ground-floor sill band runs along the front, and a first-floor string course separates the floors. The ground-floor windows have stone lintels, while the first-floor windows have flat arches. The first floor has alternating quoins. The roofs are steeply pitched with end and ridge stacks. The interior was not inspected.
