Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres north of Whitcott Evan Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and clad in corrugated iron, with a plinth made of a mix of coursed limestone and sandstone rubble. The barn has two storeys and the south front includes a loft with six pitching openings and seven ground floor doorways, some of which have boarded doors. There are also a pair of cart entrances on the left side. This barn is noted as a large late example of its type, with the later cladding not significantly detracting from its overall interest. Please note that Whitcott Evan Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
