Description
The Rhoneth is a farmhouse that has now been divided, dating from the late 17th century and early 18th century, with some partial remodelling from the mid to late 19th century. It features painted coursed and squared limestone and coursed rubble, topped with a slate roof. The layout consists of a three-room plan with a cross passage and is two storeys high. There is a painted stone ridge stack located off-centre to the left.
The windows include late 19th century and 20th century wooden casements, with three 2-light casements on the first floor to the right and a 4-light casement to the left. On the ground floor, there are two 20th century casements to the right and a 3-light casement to the left with a transom. There are also two boarded doors, one off-centre to the left with a gabled wooden hood and the other to the right with a segmental head and a 20th century gabled stone porch.
The left-hand block is timber framed with rendered panels, and the ground floor has been replaced with painted brick. The left-hand gable end features limestone rubble facing and a slate roof. This section has two framed bays and is one storey high with a gable-lit attic. There is a painted stone ridge stack located off-centre to the right. The framing consists of square panels, with three panels up to the wall plate. There is a 2-light casement to the right and a boarded door to the left with a gabled corrugated iron porch.
Inside, there is a square-panelled timber framed cross wall in the stone range between the first and second rooms from the right, featuring three panels up to the wall plate. The building may have originally been thatched, as indicated by the weathering at the ridge level of the stacks.
